‘Tis the Season

“Christmas isn’t a season. It’s a feeling.”
Edna Ferber

It’s not just Christmas.  It’s Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan and a host of other multicultural holidays too.  Tis the season, and all that good stuff.

Attitudes change. Everything becomes more precious and meaningful. For everyone.  Time stops.  Our perspectives shift to what matters most.  Family.  Relationships. Gratitude. Generosity. Kindness. Love. Empathy. Compassion.
I don’t think there’s a person in the world who can remain dry-eyed watching ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ or “Miracle on 34th Street,’ and even ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas.’ They appeal to the universal spirit that unites us all.

While we allow ourselves this season between Thanksgiving and New Year’s to break from our daily routines and relax, we also reflect on how fast this past year has sped by. What we’ve accomplished and what remains to be done. But you can think about that later.  For now, seize this time and cherish it.

It’s not just Christmas.  It’s a state of mind.

Enjoy the holidays.
