8 Traits that Spell Success
Success. We’ve read the books, took copious notes and memorized the quotes, so why does it seem to escape us?
It’s not for lack of trying. But admittedly, we can’t work on it 24/7. We have practical things to think about. Like running a business. That takes precedence and requires urgency over things that are elusive, a bit amorphous and frankly, aren’t going to happen today.
After all, success doesn’t come easy. It’s hard work. It’s a struggle. We need to put a lot of mental and physical energy into it. It’s not a straight shot. Sometimes you can’t even see it. You get bogged down in the day to day to the point where you can’t really ‘see’ the characteristics of success that you have or the ones you may need to develop to give you the inspiration you need to reach the next level.
At times we may also need to ward off the gremlins in our heads that make us wonder if we have what it takes to succeed at all. Well, you do.
Here’s a little something that puts it in perspective.
Richard St. John is a marketer, who earned his millions after applying his marketing expertise to build a company specializing in emerging technology. BTW, he’s also a long distance runner, marathon cyclist, and mountain climber who also happens to be a black belt in judo.
But he was also curious about the commonalities successful people may share that others lack.
So he spent 10 years to interviewing the most successful people in the world. After synthesizing, categorizing and analyzing the results, he created one of the largest databases on success. He also wrote a book about it. “The 8 Traits Successful People Have in Common: 8 To Be Great” became a guide on building a solid foundation to succeed.
It also launched a new career for him as a motivational speaker.
In his Richard St. John’s 8 Secrets of Success, he presents a short, down-to-earth, inspirational – and funny – synopsis on success.
